Encouragement!

Wow!  I announced my blog on Facebook, and received many wonderful and encouraging replies.  Sadly, for some reason nobody seems to be able to reply directly to this blog.  I don't know what the problem is, but if it doesn't get fixed, guess I will switch to another host.

I am so grateful for the support and encouragement of everyone.  I have tried over and over again since highschool to lose this weight, and only ended up gaining more and more and feeling more and more isolated.  But now, I don't feel alone any more.   And it's because of you.  Thanks.

  1. Cindy, Good for you. I will be praying for you. I struggle with my weight on a daily basis. We eat healthy and I work out regularly but I still can't drop the lbs. You would think after training for a year and running a marathon some weight would be gone... Oh well... I just have to continue to be healthy. Keep up the GOOD work! 4 lbs in a week is GREAT! ~ Cindy Lehrmann

  4. I think isolation is part of the process when we gain weight. For me, my fat insulated me. It's funny that the heavier I am the more invisible I become. What I "get" out of my fat, is privacy, less expectations, and less pressure, because no one notices or expects anything from me. My fat was my wall, to protect my heart. I have had to deal with that part of me, and in some instances, find other ways to hide when I need to, in order to loose the weight, and keep it off.
I'm so proud of you Cindy. This new level of accountability took an amazing amount of courage. You will succeed. I know it.

  6. Hi Cindy, Roger Sowell here. I'm also on a journey to lose 100 pounds - have 30 lost thus far. Doctor's orders. Here's what's working for me, and may work for you, too! (maybe not...) I'm eating 400 calories less each day, and walking the equivalent of 300 calories. Also other moderate exercises such as light weight-lifting and dancing a couple of times each week. I cut out fast foods, and all that other "bad for you" food. I'm also eating smaller meals but more often - every 3 hours I eat about 400 calories of healthy food. For breakfast just now, I had one-third of a navel orange, 2 dried apricots, and one cup of slow-cook oatmeal with 1/4 cup of dried cranberries, and 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds. Yum, and so good! I'm glad you are doing this (both the blog and losing weight), am looking forward to your posts. Bless you, my dear friend!
