Yesterday was a day full of blessings.  At my "official" weigh-in at Weight Watchers, I lost 2 tenths of a pound of the 8 tenths I had gained last week, so at least we're going in the right direction.  After the meeting several of our group members met at IHOP for a healthy breakfast.  We ended up all ordering the same thing (that was funny) and we had such a good time together, sharing stories and laughing.

I love the blessings of community and friendship.  It's a very powerful know you are not alone in the world, not alone in what you are facing, not alone when you have joys to share!

I spent many years alone, isolating myself because I didn't feel acceptable to the world.  Now I can see what a mistake that was.  When I started doing things I was afraid of, like putting on a bathing suit and getting in the pool, it's like a whole new world opened up to me.  I've learned that we all feel unacceptable.  We all struggle.  But if we share those concerns with each other, they don't seem so impossible to bear.  It's a beautiful thing!

So, here's a big THANK YOU to all my friends who are here with me.  I love you!  I need you!  I'm grateful for all your advice and your giggles and for sharing your fears with me, too.

  1. I really enjoyed our breakfast get together after the meeting too. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better as we continue our journey to a healthy life. Knowing we are all in this together will help each of us as we face the highs and lows of our weight loss battles. I feel blessed to have found this group!
